The Montreux Jazz Festival was founded in 1967 and for more than five decades has brought the best of jazz to Lake Geneva, Switzerland.

Originally a pure jazz festival, with the likes of Nina Simone, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Jack DeJohnette and more, attendees will now enjoy blues, soul, and rock artists, as well as music from all continents. There truly is something there for everyone.
There are too many names to mention of artists who have graced their stages, but let's give it a try: Santana, Van Morrison, B.B. King, Weather Report, Buddy Guy, Camarón de la Isla, Chuck Berry, George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic, Eric Clapton, Bo Diddley, Stan Getz, Joe Henderson, Dizzy Gillespie, Oscar Peterson, Charles Mingus, Etta James, Sonny Rollins, Count Basie, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Ray Charles, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Elis Regina, Les McCann and the list goes on!

Though the lineup won't be announced until next year, you can rest assured there will be a plethora of amazing artists on stages throughout the Montreux Jazz Festival grounds.
There's also a jazz boat and a jazz train, and all genres of music can be heard everywhere.
Montreux is the oldest jazz festival in Europe and one of the best!

DAY 1
We will be greeted at the airport in Geneva and transferred to our host hotel in Montreux. Tonight you will enjoy performances of jazz, as well as the Welcome Reception hosted by Going Places International.
​
Overnight: Eurotel Montreux
DAY 2
We'll kick off the first day on the jazz boat which sails on beautiful Lake Geneva overlooking Mont Blanc and the Swiss Alps.
​
After dinner, we will enjoy special performances in the Jazz Lab on the festival grounds, then enjoy the star-filled evening in Montreux.

DAY 3
Today we will take the private train to Gruyère to experience production of the famous Swiss cheese then visit their charming medieval town. We will also visit the chocolate factory to discover the secrets of the creation of Swiss chocolate and enjoy a high flavoured tasting.
We'll return to Montreux in time for dinner and a festival headliner

DAY 4
Guests today have the choice of sailing on a vessel with Latin sails or taking the jazz train to enjoy New Orleans or Brazilian jazz.

Evening on your own to enjoy dinner, a trip to a neighboring town or absorb more of the fun of the jazz festival.

DAY 5
Late morning we will take a 40 minute ride up the mountain to Le Coucou Restaurant, a traditional Swiss chalet located 1,150 meters above sea level, and dine on its terrace with a panoramic view of Lake Geneva and the Alps.
​
Tonight features the Jazz
Club on the festival grounds.

DAY 6
Swiss wine is amazing and today we will visit the 800 hectares of Lavaux vineyards which have been accorded the coveted UNESCO World-Heritage listing. Taste locally produced wines in an authentic wine cellar and learn more about local wine growing culture and grape varieties. Tonight we'll enjoy our final concert at the festival.

DAY 7
We'll arrive in Geneva late morning and you can visit the Palais des Nations (European U.N.), The Quartier des Bains the European platform for modern art, with bistros and trendy bars that contribute to the night-time buzz. This evening we will enjoy a sunset dinner cruise on Lake Geneva after visiting Le Jardin Anglais and the Jet d'Eau.

DAY 8
Montreux and Geneva
are a great vacation combination and the memories of the two will provide lots of fun conversations when you get home.

Today we head to the airport for our return to the U.S. We hope you'll join us for another jazz festival in the future!

PLEASE NOTE: As with all music festivals, the performances aren't announced until much closer to the date. You can rest assured that Montreux Jazz Festival has provided the very best performances in the world for over 50 years.
