We will enjoy three Great Safari Adventures, including the largest intact caldera in the world, the Ngorongoro Crater, which shelters and protects one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth. With a permanent population of more than 30,000 animals, this is one of the few places in Africa where guests stand a great chance of seeing the entire Big Five in the course of a single game drive. The tour will end at Lake Manyara which is famous for its tree climbing lions, an impressive habitat for flamingos and the highest concentration of baboons in Africa!
The Swahili coast is home to some of the warmest ocean water on the planet and is on full display in Zanzibar. Just the name Zanzibar evokes dreams of romance and mystery and the reality will not disappoint. Relax on one of 25 dazzling white, palm-fringed beaches, where the azure waters of the Indian Ocean beckon swimmers, divers, fishermen and water sports enthusiasts alike. Travel day.
Friday 9/23
After arrival and check-in, we will take time to relax in anticipation of an amazing week of adventure. This evening we will enjoy cocktails and conversation at the Welcome Reception hosted by Going Places International.
Saturday 9/24
Today we will engage in a game drive in Tarangire National Park. After lunch
we will participate in a late afternoon game drive before continuing to a beautiful lodge near Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and an overnight stay.
Sunday 9/25
We will depart after breakfast for the Ngorongoro Crater tour, where we will visit the famous hippos' pool picnic site. Our morning will include viewing elephants, lions, buffalos and black rhino. In the afternoon we will visit Maasai Boma to experience Maasai culture and way of life.
Monday 9/26
This morning we will visit the Lake Manyara National Park and engage in a half-day game drive. After experiencing the 'ecological island', we will have dinner and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch our evening departure flight to Zanzibar. After arrival, we will check in at the hotel on the exotic east coast of the island and visit the craft market.
Tuesday 9/27
After all our adventures with the beautiful animals in the northern part of the country, we will have 3 days to just relax on one of the most beautiful islands in the world with white sand beaches everywhere. Zanzibar offers a plethora of restaurants, shopping and events and you will have time to explore many of them.
Wednesday 9/28
Zanzibar is known for its spice trade and this morning we will explore the winding streets with an expert guide who will inform us of the history of the industry and introduce us to shops to purchase the unique spices. This afternoon we will relax on the beach or visit the Old Fort built in the 17th century to defend the island against the Portuguese.
Thursday 9/29
If you didn't get enough, this morning we will enjoy one more leisure morning on the beach. In the afternoon, we will transfer to Stone Town and participate in a city tour. Afterwards we will visit the Forodhani Food Market before our hosted Farewell Dinner at The Rock restaurant with stunning views of the island.
Friday 9/30
